Family time

The day after Kiley's birthday party, she and Connor were lucky enough to get to spend the day with Nanny/Aunt Laurie, Uncle William, Aunt Jenna and cousin Josh. They went to see the movie, Winnie the Pooh. Kiley loves Winnie the Pooh but I heard she fell asleep not too far into the movie. Connor said he enjoyed it. They spent the rest of time just hanging out and playing. Here are some pics from the day.

I just love the picture below. Kiley fell asleep on Joshua and they look so cute together! My daughter and godson!

Thanks to all for spending time with my children. I know the kids had so much fun and it makes me happy that they are making wonderful memories with you.

Kiley's 2nd Birthday Party

The following weekend we had Kiley's birthday party. It was a fun day with a little bad weather but it didn't stop us. This was Kiley beautiful cake made by her Nanny Laurie! It tasted as good as it looked. Thank you Laurie for all your hard work on this. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it. It makes it that much more special for Kiley that you made it.
Just look at the details! It was so cute! Thanks also to Kiley's Aunt Jenna for helping!

She wasn't quite sure about all those people singing to her and I don't think she really blew out the candles. I think she had some help!
It looks like she figured out what to do with the cake! Love these pics!

Then it was present time. Once again, she had lots of help opening gifts which she didn't seem to mind. She loved everything she got. Just look at her hanging on to her money. She was folding it up to put in her piggy bank. She knows that's where it goes!

She got a cool little tricycle from her Nanny Corrina. Look at that tongue!

Then it was pool time! As I said, the dark skies did not deter the kids. They had a blast!

Here are some random pics from the party that I liked and wanted to share.

Me and my sisters!

Connor had to take a ride on the tricycle....in his cowboy boots!!

Me and my brother!

So overall, it was a great party! We all had lots of fun and it was great to spend time with family and friends. Now Kiley's birthday is officially over....until next year!

Kiley's 2nd Birthday

(No Laurie, I'm not done yet. Some of us are busy!)

Kiley's actual birthday fell on a Tuesday so we had a little dinner, cake and of course presents with a few friends. Here is the birthday girl!

Anxiously waiting on cake....

Thank you Monica for making Kiley's cake! It was delicious!

She had plenty of help opening her presents. I'm still not sure she completely understands this whole birthday thing except she got lots of attention and presents.

She was very excited about her new Minnie Mouse nightgown! We had to put it on immediately!

So this was the prelude to her birthday party! They also celebrated at daycare with cookie cake. I think she had a pretty good day! We sure had fun celebrating with her. It's been a really fast 2 years. Happy Birthday Kiley!! We love you!

Helloooo Out There!

Yes, I am still alive. I have not posted in a really long time and I'm regretting it now. With the advent of Facebook, I thought I would just share pictures there and it was much easier and faster to do. However, after reading many other blogs and looking back at mine, I realize this blog was a good way to sort of scrapbook the things going on in our lives. I wish I had kept up with it the past year. I'm sure noone (other than Michelle and maybe Laurie) is reading this and that's okay. I want to (attempt) update this on a regular basis for me and my family. It's fun to go back and see what we were doing at different times, especially now with the kids. It seems we stay busy doing things all the time and this is a great way to document it.

So without further ado, (so you can see what we look like these days) here are a couple of recent pictures of us from our family vacation!

Next up, Kiley's 2nd Birthday!!

Saturday we went to a crawfish boil (yum, yum!) where the Easter Bunny made an appearance. Connor was not too happy about that. Kiley was intrigued by him so we got some good pics of her with the bunny. The kids hunted for easter eggs and played with the crawfish. We had a great time! Then it was home to bed so the Easter bunny could stop by our house!

Happy Easter!!

We started off Easter weekend with some egg dying (and Brandy eating some Chinese food). Connor was more interested in dying his hands than eggs. His hand was pink for quite some time. Kiley just wanted to eat newspaper and anything she could get her hands on. Overall we had a great time and the eggs came out pretty good!!

My Birthday

Today is my 35th birthday. I still can't believe that I am now in my "mid 30's". That just seems unreal to me. This cake is from Sunday when I celebrated my birthday with my wonderful family. I got to spend the day with my husband, kids, my dad, two sisters and my niece. It was a really great day! They cooked lunch for me and we had chocolate cake! It doesn't get much better than that. I was lucky enough that my sister Laurie was in town the week before and we got to spend alot of time together. Well, she was mostly helping me with the kids while Terry was out of town but any time spent together is awesome.

Today was my actual birthday and while I had to work, I really had a great day. My friends at work always make me feel special. They brought me breakfast, we went to lunch, then had cake and brownies after. Sounds like a lot of eating, doesn't it? Well, it was!! And they gave me some wonderful gifts. I got flowers at work from my hubby and kids which were absolutely beautiful!! We just spent a relatively quiet evening at home tonight. Terry cooked dinner and bathed the kids which was a nice break for me. So I really had a great day!! Thanks to everyone for making it such a special day.

P.S. I know I haven't posted in awhile and skipped some things (like Christmas!) I'll try to put up some pics even though they are late....
